Clinical Bike Fitting
The only bike fitting course in the UK specifically designed for healthcare professionals. We go deeper on using biomechanical assessment to deliver the best possible fit — focusing on injury prevention and solving more complex pain issues on the bike, including how your approach might differ for cases such as post–hip replacement.
Dates & location: 7–8 February 2026 — Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, 10:00–16:00 each day.
Price: £750
IBFI status: Our courses are IBFI accredited. You will meet the educational requirements for Level 2 certification; final certification is independently awarded by the International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI).
What you’ll learn
- Deep dive into the key principles of cycling biomechanics and how they affect performance, comfort, and injury risk.
- Conduct a thorough pre-fit screening relevant to bike fitting.
- Set up a bike accurately and make informed adjustments at all three contact points.
- Assess and adjust cleat positioning; set saddle height, tilt and fore–aft; and configure handlebar reach, drop and width to suit the rider.
- Identify and address common rider complaints (e.g., numbness, lower-back pain, knee pain) using sound biomechanical reasoning.
- Observe and coach posture, movement, and pedalling technique.
- Discuss case studies of more serious conditions (e.g., hip replacements) and what you might do differently during a fit to accommodate.
- Adapt the fitting approach for different disciplines (road, gravel, racing).
- Gain an introductory understanding of bike-fit technologies such as video analysis and saddle-pressure mapping.
- Complete a full bike fit, applying all learned principles end-to-end.
Practice & marketing
- Turn fit clients into returning therapy clients: positioning, follow-up pathways, and communication that builds long-term value.
- Marketing techniques: how to demonstrate the benefits of seeing a healthcare bike fitter versus a non-healthcare fitter.
