Core Bike Fitting
Designed for anyone who works with cyclists — from coaches and bike shop owners to keen riders. Over 2 practical days you’ll learn to assess the rider, make effective position adjustments, and apply bike-fit principles to tackle real-world comfort and performance issues. You’ll quickly discover that no two bike fits are the same.
Dates & location: Saturday 28 February 2026 and Sunday 1 March 2026 — Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, 10:00–16:00 each day.
Price: £600
IBFI status: Our courses are IBFI accredited. You will meet the educational requirements for Level 2 certification; final certification is independently awarded by the International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI).
Course objectives
- Understand and assess key principles of cycling biomechanics and how they affect performance, comfort, and injury risk.
- Conduct a thorough pre-fit screening relevant to bike fitting.
- Set up a bike accurately and make informed adjustments at all three contact points.
- Assess and adjust cleat positioning; set saddle height, tilt and fore–aft; and configure handlebar reach, drop and width to suit the rider.
- Identify and address common rider complaints (e.g., numbness, lower-back pain, knee pain) using sound biomechanical reasoning.
- Observe and coach posture, movement, and pedalling technique.
- Adapt the fitting approach for different disciplines (road, gravel, racing).
- Gain an introductory understanding of bike-fit technologies such as video analysis and saddle-pressure mapping.
- Complete a full bike fit, applying all learned principles end-to-end.
